Story 5: The Rules We Write Together

Town Hall — rules & responsibility morning

1. Story — Text-Based (Day 1-2: Imagination Studio)

Read story with NO pictures first. In this story you will find 8 NEW AI-related terms: Agreement, Policy, Guideline, Responsibility, Accountability, Cooperation, Consensus, Respect. Already taught terms may appear for revision.

Lina and Umar are in the town hall.

The town hall has a helper bot with a sensor that hears voices. A sensor is an ear that feels sound.

The bot saves voices as data and many voices make a dataset basket. A dataset is like a basket of notes.

The bot finds a pattern that says many people want kind rules. A pattern is when same idea happens again and again.

Lina says we need an agreement. Agreement is when everyone says yes to the same idea.

Umar says an agreement can be a policy. Policy is a written rule that says how we will act.

The mayor says a policy needs a guideline. Guideline is a clear step that shows how to follow the rule.

Lina says rules need responsibility. Responsibility is doing your part and caring for the result.

Umar says responsibility needs accountability. Accountability is saying I did it and I will fix it if it goes wrong.

The bot wants to share water fairly. That is its responsibility.

Lina says we need cooperation. Cooperation is working together and helping each other.

Umar says cooperation needs consensus. Consensus is when most agree after talking and listening.

The town writes rules with respect. Respect is listening to everyone and being kind.

The bot learns to follow agreement and policy and guideline with responsibility and accountability.

Lina and Umar sign the rule paper with cooperation and consensus and respect.

The town hall claps because rules written together with respect help everyone.

The garden grows with fair rules and kind help.
