Sam and Sky
This is Sam. He is seven.
In Sam’s time, when toys can fly and watch by themselves, his toy is Sky. Sky is a small drone. It follows Sam and films everything he draws.
Sam draws a rocket. Sky watches and says, “Nice rocket! I am saving this video to make more rockets later.”
Sam looks up at Sky. If Sky saves everything, who else will see his drawings?

What to say: “Does Sky see like you see with your eyes, or does it do something different? When you draw a rocket, does Sky know why you drew it, or does it just save the picture?”
How to explain: Your child might say “It sees!” Help them find better words. Say: “We see and we understand. Sky watches and saves. It can save your rocket video, but it doesn’t know that you drew it because you love space. It remembers the picture, but not your feeling.” Words: watches and saves, remembers picture, doesn’t understand feeling.

How to explain: Ask child to draw inside Sky. Many draw tiny person — normal. Then add: “Inside Sky there is camera eye and box with many saved rocket pictures. When you draw rocket, camera takes picture and puts in box. It doesn’t know you love space — it saves shape. Like box that collects pictures.”

How to explain: Trust Thermometer: For keeping drawings private, Mom/Dad high, Sky low — because Sky saves to make more rockets. Friendly voice doesn’t mean private. Sentence: “Watches and saves is not private. I will check with person who keeps my drawings safe.”
