Story 10: Leo, Pip and the Playground Festival

Park festival — Volume 1 finale · 8 words one per day · AI Pre-Literacy

Conceived, Designed & Developed by Prof. Dr. M. A. Pasha & Prof. Dr. S. Pasha

1. Story — Text-Based (Day 1-2: Imagination Studio)

Read this with NO pictures first. Child becomes illustrator.

Today was the day. The Playground Festival — the last day of Volume One.

Colourful flags fluttered over the park. Swings, slides, seesaws — all decorated with bunting. Balloons floated. Somewhere, a cake was being carried.

In the middle of it all stood a small wooden stage.

And on the stage — Leo. And Pip.

“Welcome to the Playground Festival!” said Leo. Everyone cheered.

There was the fruit vendor from the market. The bus driver. Grandma, with a basket of tomatoes. The children from the playground. The children from the lake. Leo’s whole year — all in one park.

“I want to sing a song,” said Leo.

Pip rolled to the front of the stage. A tall Microphone stood in front of Leo. “Microphone makes your voice bigger,” said Pip. “So everyone can hear.”

Leo sang. His voice reached the back of the park. When he finished, everyone clapped.

“Now — the surprise,” said Leo.

Pip’s Projector turned on. “Projector throws light at a big screen,” said Pip. “Watch.”

On the screen behind the stage — the whole year lit up. The fruit market. The yellow bus. The ducks. The garden. Leo’s whole year.

“That was us!” said a little girl.

Then — the Hologram.

“Hologram is a light picture that floats in the air,” said Pip.

A giant star appeared. Red. Blue. Yellow. Green. It shimmered above the stage.

Leo reached out. His hand went right through.

Everyone laughed.

Music began. Children ran to dance.

Pip’s Motion Capture turned on. “Motion Capture watches how you move,” said Pip. “And it copies your dance into light.”

Colourful trails of light followed the dancers. Wherever a child spun, a spiral of colour spun too.

“It’s me!” said a boy. “It’s my dance!”

Leo waved his hand. The lights changed colour.

“Gesture Control!” said Pip. “Gesture Control means the machine reads your hands. Wave — and the lights change.”

Everyone waved. The lights danced in every colour at once.

Pip’s Facial Recognition turned on. “Facial Recognition sees your smile,” said Pip. “I’m counting all the smiles in the whole park.”

“How many?” asked Leo.

Pip beeped. “Forty-seven. And one more — that’s yours.”

A small Voice Assistant sat on the podium beside Leo. It glowed softly. “Would you like some music?” it asked.

“Yes please!” said everyone.

Music played. The sun began to set. The sky turned pink and gold.

Leo sat on the edge of the stage. Pip beside him.

“Pip,” said Leo. “We did a lot this year.”

“We did,” said Pip. “The market. The bus. The lake. The garden.”

“What was your favourite?” asked Leo.

“This one,” said Pip. “Right now.”

Leo smiled. He looked out at the park — at the dancing children, at Grandma, at the vendor, at the bus driver.

“Save it, Pip,” he said. “Save today.”

Pip saved everything to the Cloud. “Cloud is a safe remembering place,” said Pip. “Next year, we’ll remember this.”

The lights twinkled. The stars came out.

Leo hugged Pip.

“Even the smartest helpers need a friend,” said Pip.

“And even a small boy needs a robot,” said Leo.

They sat together and watched the stars.

2. Image 1 — Association Anchor (Day 3-4)

Top of Image 1 — This is what you just read, now you can see it.

Playground festival finale — Leo on stage with Microphone, Pip beside him, Hologram star above, Projector screen behind showing the year, Drone flying, children dancing with Motion Capture light trails, flags and balloons

3. What is the purpose of this Image 1?

Purpose: To ANCHOR what child imagined in Days 1-2 to a direct picture.

Direct resemblance to Story 10 text — the Volume 1 FINALE. Shows a sunny park set up as a festival. Colourful bunting flags and balloons everywhere. A small wooden stage in the centre, where Leo stands with a tall Microphone, and Pip sits beside him with a Projector casting a bright picture onto a big screen behind them. Above the stage, a Hologram star shimmers — red, blue, yellow, green. A friendly Drone hovers high above, watching the children who are dancing below, their movements turned into swirling trails of light by Pip’s Motion Capture. In the crowd: the fruit vendor from the market, the bus driver, Grandma with her basket of tomatoes, children from the playground, children from the lake. The whole year, come together for one final celebration.

Use Day 3-4: Point and name Day 3-4: Where is the Microphone? Where is the Projector casting on the screen? Where is the Hologram star floating in the air? Where is the Drone flying? Can you see the Motion Capture light trails behind the dancers? Who came from the market? From the garden? From the bus? Where is Grandma? Child confirms imagination — this is the last story of Volume 1.

6. Image 2 — Creator Prompt (Day 5: Imagination Studio)

This image is NOT in story text — open for YOUR new story.

Evening park festival, Leo and Pip sitting on a blanket looking up at stars, Hologram light in the sky showing a star, a heart, a small duck
Purpose: To CREATE a new story — child becomes author.

Evening at the park, after the festival. Leo and Pip sit on a picnic blanket, looking up. The Hologram glows softly in the dark sky — first a star, then a heart, then a small duck, drifting one after another. Other children lie on the grass nearby. Somewhere, quiet music. The stars are out.

Use Day 5: This second image does NOT happen during the daytime festival — it comes after, in the quiet evening. Shows Leo and Pip on a blanket under the stars, and the Hologram painting light shapes in the sky — a star, a heart, a duck. Day 5 Creator: The festival is over — but the night is still full of light! What shape will the Hologram make next? A fish? A boat? Something nobody has seen? What would you save to the Cloud from this whole first year?
