Story 4: The Helper Who Asks Before Helping
Garden lab — human help and permission day · 8 words one per day · AI Pre-Literacy
1. Story — Text-Based (Day 1-2: Imagination Studio)
Read this with NO pictures first. Child becomes illustrator.
Lina and Omar’s tablet can now sort leaves very well. It wants to help water the plants.
But Lina says, “Wait. You need to make a decision. A decision is choosing what to do.”
Omar says, “You are a helper. A helper is someone who helps humans — not decides alone.”
The tablet shows dry soil. It wants to water. But first it must ask for permission. Permission means asking if okay.
“Is it safe?” asks Lina. Safe means not hurting anyone — not too much water, not on books.
There is a rule. A rule is what we must follow — always ask human before watering.
The tablet will ask. Ask means talking to check — “May I water the basil?”
Lina and Omar have a choice. A choice is picking between options — water now, or later, or not.
They say, “Yes, water now, just a little.” They work together. Together means human and AI working together — human decides, AI helps.

Top of Image 1 — This is what you just read, now you can see it.

3. What is the purpose of this Image 1?
Direct resemblance to Story 4 text — shows Lina and Omar in sunny garden lab with small watering robot helper and tablet, tablet shows decision question “May I water basil?”, rule poster “Always ask human”, safe check icons, choice buttons “Now / Later / Not”, Lina and Omar deciding together.
Use Day 3-4: Where is decision? Who is helper? Where is permission? Is it safe? What is rule? Where does it ask? What choice? How are they working together?

This second image does NOT happen exactly in garden text. Shows close-up decision tree — “Should I water?”, permission bubble “May I?”, safe check with green tick, rule poster, three choice buttons, Lina and Omar holding hands with robot helper, together badge.
Use Day 5: What would YOUR helper ask permission for? What rule would you make? What choices would you give? Draw your own helper that asks before helping.
