Story 1: Lina, Omar and the Seeing Tablet

1. Story — Text-Based (Day 1-2: Imagination Studio)
Read this with NO pictures first. Child becomes illustrator.
Lina is 4. Omar is 4. They have a tablet that can see.
The tablet has a camera. The camera is a sensor. A sensor is like an eye that feels light.
Lina holds up a leaf. The tablet clicks and saves it as data. Data is a picture it remembers.
Omar holds up another leaf. Click. More data.
Lina says, “Look, many leaf pictures! They make a dataset. A dataset is like a picture basket.”
The tablet looks at the dataset. It finds a pattern. A pattern is when same shape repeats again and again.
The tablet has a model. A model is an idea inside about leaves. Its model says pointy leaves are mango leaves.
Omar asks, “What will it say?”
The tablet makes a prediction. A prediction is a guess. It says, “Mango leaf!”
Output appears on screen. Output is what it shows. It shows word MANGO and a green leaf.
Lina claps, “It used sensor to get input, saved data and dataset, found pattern, used model, made prediction, showed output!”
Omar giggles, “And our leaves were the input! Input is what we show it.”
