Story 2: The Sorting Bins That Learned

1. Story — Text-Based (Day 1-2: Imagination Studio)
Read this with NO pictures first. Child becomes illustrator.
Lina and Omar have four sorting bins. Pinecones, smooth stones, pointy leaves, round leaves.
The tablet looks at a leaf. It sees a feature. A feature is the part we look at — pointy or round.
Lina says, “This is pointy.” She gives it a label. A label is the name we give — MANGO.
That leaf is an example. An example is one thing to learn from.
Omar shows many leaves, one by one. Pointy MANGO, round NEEM, pointy MANGO, round NEEM. This is training. Training is showing many examples to learn.
The tablet tries to sort a new leaf. It says NEEM, but it is MANGO! Oh! It made a mistake. A mistake is when guess is wrong.
Lina smiles, “It is okay to make mistakes. Let’s do correction.” Correction is fixing the mistake — no, this is MANGO.
The tablet listens. It will improve. Improve means getting better after fixing.
Omar claps, “Now it is sorting right! Sorting is putting into right bins.”
Lina says, “The tablet is learning! Learning is getting better with more examples.”
